Krabi, Thailand Outreach Event

The temperature was certainly hot in the beach city of Krabi in southern Thailand, but it was the Holy Spirit that was on fire during a recent outreach trip by a WELS mission team to the city in early April.

About thirty youths attended a three-day English camp put together by the mission team, who traveled across the country to get to the southern province. During the morning hours each day, a WELS missionary and Kingdom Workers served as English teachers, while students and staff from the “It is Finished” Bible Institute and By Grace Church in Chiang Mai filled in with songs and games. Of course, English was not the only subject shared at the Krabi camp. There were a number of special opportunities for the mission team to also share the Gospel message to the youth and the support staff onsite at the camp. For many of these children and staff, it was their first time hearing the saving truths of God’s grace. The final day of outreach in Krabi was concluded with a worship service, attended by some of these new contacts made during the camp.

Soon after the camp ended, two of the most recent graduates of the “It is Finished” Bible Institute in Chiang Mai arrived in Krabi to begin their work as mission interns in the city. Please pray with us that the Lord blesses the work of these two men as they continue to follow up with the contacts made from the camp, along with the many other opportunities the Holy Spirit brings before them.
