LWMS Women’s Visit to Nigeria Continues

Our LWMS visitors decided they like the bush churches. Like yesterday in Yala area SW of Ogoja. Rural village, small church, short walls, tin roof not far overhead, over 200 eager women plus a few men and lots of children crowded into every space. About 100 degrees indoors.[slideshow=41]

But the welcome even warmer. The women’s choir with lively step and close harmony welcomed us all. Their new song, “Lord I Thank You for Making Me a Woman (and not a man)” was an instant hit, for they sang of finding their value in the Lord — more precious than rubies. Did I mention it was hot. But our team carried on with the presentations. Everyone smiles broadly when Michelle teaches her songs, such as “This Little Gospel Light of Mine.”

What a relief that the women’s feast for the visitors was served to us under the village central intersection shade trees. And then with hugs and good byes we headed back to Ogoja.

One more conference, tomorrow at Ishibori church in Ogoja. After that, ordination of seven All Saints pastors on Sunday. By this time, we’ve all made dear fiends.

It might be too late now but I just found this blog!! Greetings to all but especially my MOM! :) I love the post about “Carol and the children” as I can visualize it totally as she does have that knack. Thankfully it seems to be a trait I inherited also and love to use… We can’t wait to see you in a few days – we miss you!

Debbie
