World Missions Update

Thailand – On March 26, two students graduated from the “It is Finished” Seminary.  The two men were ordained and called to serve as ministers of the gospel in Thailand.  Six other students graduated from the Bible Institute and will be called to serve as interns.

The Promise in Nepali – The church in Nepal is being blessed by God in extraordinary ways and is exhibiting the spirit of the early church where “they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:38).  This past March 102 workers gathered for the sixth worker training workshop to study the stories of the Bible and Luther’s Catechism.  These workers are growing in their knowledge of God’s word, in their ability to teach it to others and are also zealous to share the gospel in spite of the Hindu opposition.  In 2002 they were working in five districts.  Today they are working in 28 districts – one-third of the country.   More than 60,000 pieces of Christian literature have been distributed and more than 7,000 persons enrolled in the Scripture Learning Program since its inception in January, 2006.  It is the church’s hope to one day bring the gospel to the neighboring country of Tibet.
